June 28, 2010 New Edge | New Blood

Coates Design Architects Selected to Participate in “New Edge, New Blood” Exhibit. Coates Design Architects, with offices in Bainbridge Island & Seattle, WA has been selected to participate in the Seattle AIA’s exhibit, “New Edge, New Blood” – featuring firms shaping the future of architecture in our region.

The AIA describes the exhibit as follows: “New Edge New Blood explores not just great design, but how to get there. A curatorial team selected 10 firms for their innovative use of interdisciplinary talent, unique methods of project delivery, and for pushing the boundaries of architectural design while operating within economic realities. Such innovations allow designers to shed many of the limitations of the traditional design process, leading to increased efficiency in both the design and construction phases. The result is architecture that challenges and excites. The exhibit will take place on Tuesday, August 10 at AIA office/gallery in Seattle.”

Bainbridge Island headquarters for Coates Design Architects has grown from 3 to 10 employees this past year. The firm is opening a satellite office in Seattle and expanding services to include Interior Design. Projects on the boards include: Bainbridge Art Museum and the Island Gateway Project. The firm is gaining a sterling reputation for offering innovative architectural and sustainable design services for a wide range of projects.
