Foundation Work

April 16, 2009 Foundation Work in WA home designed by Seattle architecture firm

Seattle Architects often struggle with the timing of excavation and foundation work due to the infamous Seattle rain….However, we are pleased to announce that foundation work has been completed with little trouble. The Ellis Residence will be built upon a mechanically vented crawlspace. The crawlspace fan will regulate the moisture content under the house reducing the opportunity for mold to grow. The fan is switched on and off by a humidistat. The floor of the crawlspace has perforated drains running beneath a bed of pea gravel in order to move any standing water from the crawlspace during construction.
