Ah Bali! As we enjoy our summer in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, it is lovely to dream of exotic locales and all the beautiful sights awaiting us. Whenever I travel I make it a point to enjoy the local architecture and observe how unique design challenges are solved.

I am inspired by this bamboo home. Bamboo in Bali provides sustainable building materials and inspires creative designs for homes and vacation rentals. In Bali, bamboo naturally grows quickly and abundantly ensuring a supply of replenishable materials. It is incredibly strong, with the tensile strength of steel, yet flexible, providing a secure and stable building, without limiting design. The material comes with its own caveats to design though—there are no flat boards.
