Getting Dried In

It’s been a pretty exciting couple of weeks for these Bainbridge Island Architects. Coates Design Architects have been working to make the Ellis residence the greenest home in Bainbridge.

Getting Dried In

We are working toward getting the house dried in. Progress has been made toward this goal with the installation of the weather barrier, windows, and skylights. The weather barrier is a breathable product from Vaproshield. It has become one of our favorite products to use in a rainscreen application which will be discussed in more detail during the siding installation. The windows are triple-glazed aluminum-clad wood windows from Loewen. The triple-glazing allows for an extremely energy efficientU-value range of .19 to .21. In addition, the skylights by Crystalite have been installed over the main stair and are operable by remote to allow for stack natural ventilation in the main residence.
